It's my hubby's birthday today! He's dirty too! :D
We went to watch Wicked last night! SO GOOD!!!!
...and then my battery died. :( Afterwards, I dropped him off at work at 12am and he didn't come home until close to 12pm. He couldn't sleep, so I took him out to tea at Chado.
Good deal for afternoon tea! $15 for 4 tea sandwiches, scone, cake, cookie and pot of tea.
Look at all their cute teapots!!
Then for dinner, we went to Yoshida in San Marino.
The Yoshida roll (left) was REALLY good! The scallop from Japan sushi was also really good. The halibut was okay. Not bad, not good. The yellowtail was sketchy - I think it is the cause of my sickness (i think it's mild food poisoning). The 2026 Tempura Roll (3rd pic) is good. Not really good, just good. The orange was prepared really cute.
And now he's knocked out catching up on his sleep. As usual, I can't sleep. :P
I've been baking! First up, Cream Puffs! this is actually the second batch I made.
Cream Filling:
- 2 packages of Vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 1 cups of milk
Whip in a mixing bowl and refridgerate to set.
Dough:
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 eggs
Boil butter and water. Mix in flour and salt. Stir until dough forms a ball and transfer to mixing bowl. Mix in eggs one at a time.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Drop by tablespoon full onto non-greased pan. I used parchment paper because i don't have silicon pads.
Bake in oven for 20-23 mintues. Use a toothpick to make sure dough is done on the inside too, but don't over bake or it'll be dry.
After 20-23 minutes, remove from heat and allow to cool.
Fill either with pastry bag or split in half and put cream in middle.
It's cool watching the cream puffs POOF as they get filled!
Cover with Powdered sugar and enjoy!
I walked to the supermarket and walked out with a bill less than $5! :) The 2 mile walk worked up my appetite well.
Everything turned out well. Only thing is I made quite a mess in the kitchen. >_<
First dish is Steamed Eggs and Pork:
Second dish is Tofu Stuffed Tomatoes. I took pictures of the hollowed out , stuffed, and then cooked tomatoes. :)
It was fun. The only part I don't like is the cleaning up part. :\ And I made quite a mess too, especially while hollowing the tomatoes and stuffing them. Tomato juice and tofu bits everywhere. >_<
So I've been feeding my dogs Science Diet since day 1. Lychee recently had a really bad allergic reaction to something. We're not sure what's she's allergic to, but we figure we might as well switch their diet to more natural and organic food.
Thank you LK for introducing us to Wellness and thank you Winnie for helping us pick some up. You're supposed to switch their food gradually so that their body could adjust, so I mixed half Wellness and half Science Diet. So what does Broccoli think of his Science Diet now?
On the floor is the Science Diet that he now refuses to eat. It's been such a mess around their eating area, so I stopped mixing the Science Diet with their Wellness. I have been experimenting between the different Wellness options and Natural Balance.
The outcome? Well, Lychee and Broccoli's least favorite are both the Science Diet, of course. Lychee seems to like the Wellness Super5 Chicken, whereas Broccoli seems to like the Wellness Fish & Sweet Potato. We just bought them the Wellness Super5 Lamb last night and they don't seem to like that too much, but I'll have to do another test because I only compared it against the Chicken and Fish for Broccoli and for Lychee, I only compared it to the Natural Balance. But hands down their favorite has been Natural Balance Potato & Duck.
If I add the Natural Balance to the mix, then they pick out and only eat the Natural Balance. Since the Natural Balance is an allergy formula, I'll just save the rest for Lychee and get Broccoli to eat the Wellness for now. I just have to stop mixing the foods because that makes them pick out only the ones they like.
At the end of their dinner, they have dessert too:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SNOWBIE! His face was SO dirty after. I was trying to get a macro of his face, but there wasn't enough light to take a non-blurry macro.
